With reference to Mr. (now Sir Thomas) Southorn's despatch No. 480 of the 27th October, 1932, I have the honour to enclose for your information a copy of a resolution which was passed by Legislative Council at a meeting on the 3rd August, 1933. A copy Encl.No.2. of the Hansard report of the proceedings is also

enclosed.

It is anticipated that on completion of the work the cost will be somewhat less than the original estimate of $2,702,000 approved in 1929.
